Few things have affected me as much when I travel as the stories of
		the people you meet:

			- In Chile the villagers told us how General Pinochet killed the
opposition by throwing them down waterfalls
- Again in Chile we witnessed protests against Pinochet describing
the methods of torture used and the chain of command
- In India we got caught in Kashmir when President Zia of Pakistan
died, in a plane crash. The locals told us of repression, and
			shootings.
- In India I had breakfast with a rich person who boasted how
little he paid his workforce, and what a great businessman he was -
few things have put me off the caste (and class) systems so
			completely
- In Ecuador, the locals were incredibly friendly -  despite
			the language barriers
- In China work colleagues who sat next door to each other for 2
years dared not talk about Tiananmen Square
- In Taiwan, I worked alongside Hitachi. The majority of the staff
were Japanese, and they were a real fun loving friendly crowd, and
great drinking companions - Campay !
Having witnessed at first hand some of the human rights issues, not surprisingly I
have been a member of Amnesty International for years. To join see the links page.
